Annual Innovation Summary
All Energy Networks will produce an Annual Innovation Report for each regulatory year which meets the minimum requirements set out in Ofgem Network Innovation Allowance (NIA) Governance Document. These innovation reports will be published on the SNP by 31 July each year, and include network innovation benefits tables. In addition, an ENA industry wide Annual Innovation Report will also be published by 31 October each year.
Network Innovation Allowance & Network Innovation Competition
The energy networks and underlying infrastructure are critical enablers in Great Britain’s (GB) decarbonisation journey to delivering a successful and rapid net zero future. In service of these decarbonisation goals, the networks invest millions of pounds each year into innovative projects to develop a greener, more reliable, efficient and accessible energy system of the future. This report reflects on the progress networks have made in FY24, with a specific focus on RIIO-2 funded innovation. In addition, the Gas Networks Annual Innovation Summary Report has been included as an attachment to accompany the Electricity Networks report.
