Innovation Strategy 2024
The updated Energy Networks Innovation Strategy has been published. This strategy is a roadmap for how network operators can innovate to support the net zero transition and tackle potential challenges to the UK’s energy security. Alongside this update, we have produced a forward look infographic which provides a clearer articulation of our vision up until 2050 for enabling the full decarbonisation of the UK through the delivery of a resilient and sustainable future energy system. It aims to set out the key areas where change and innovation are required to achieve our shared decarbonisation milestones. The updated innovation strategy document can be read here.
Basecamp 2024
Basecamp 2024 was launched in March at Manchester. We were so pleased to see around 250 keen minds from across different industry sectors join us in Manchester to hear first-hand the 2024 problem statements. Following the success of last year's inaugural event, our partners Ofgem and UKRI also used the event to launch their Round 4 Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF) Challenges. This meant delegates were the first to hear the strategic innovation priorities of the energy regulator, as well as the specific and technical problem statements that energy networks want solutions for in 2024.
