UK Power Networks undertook works to install 630m of 3 x 33kV and 1 x 132kV underground circuits plus additional spare ducts linking Fulbourn to the proposed substation at the new Babraham Park and Ride site ending at Sawston Primary.
It was identified by the highways authority’s that Anglian Water were also looking to work in the same area therefore it was proposed that a collaboration should take place. It was agreed to work together on 380m of alignment saving 42 days of Street works.
Commentary on communication with local stakeholders:
An outlined plan was discussed with the local authority and Anglian water to discuss shared communications with a letter drop for local residents before works started, outlining the dates and benefits of minimising disruption.
