UK Power Networks (UKPN) was to replace approximately 2,300m of high voltage cable in Chertsey Bridge Road and Bridge Road in Chertsey.
It was identified by Surrey Council to collaborate with Dunamis on Chertsey Bridge Road and Thames Side.
The work started on 3rd of April, and UKPN finished works on the 16th June minimising the disruption and aligning 631m of trench works, saving 74 days of additional street works activity.
Commentary on communication with local stakeholders :
We arranged calls and meetings to discuss the works and cost sharing efficiencies and a TFL lane rental waiver was approved. Letters were delivered to residents outlining this and the benefits of collaboration, minimising the disruption. The below feedback was received from the Local Authority:
“I’m also advised that within your works here you’re also going to be laying ducting for the Shepperton Studios. This is clearly excellent news as it prevents un-necessary future disruption to the network and is a good example of collaboration in practice. Excellent!”
The following is not a comprehensive list of the companies involved but does indicate some of the parties that had to be communicated with to keep the project on target:
