The project proposes to investigate the effect of the plant growth regulator paclobutrazol (PBZ) on tree vitality and growth rates. Six field trial sites have been established, supported by thirteen observational sites throughout GB to represent a diverse range of bioclimatic zones. There are two sites in each of the participating DNOs service areas. Tree species selected for PBZ evaluation were selected to represent those that occur commonly on or near overhead networks.
Objectives
This project will investigate the rate of vegetation growth and use of Tree Growth Regulators (TGRs) to reduce maintenance costs.
