Outcomes

Demonstration of successful methodology to quickly and efficiently review servitude and easement documents with a view to the identification of risk, required actions and cost in advance of network transition         .

Development of an Asset Risk Score capable of grading risk for individual assets associated with network transition and adaption in weighting/scoring criteria to move with the emerging regulatory, planning and H&S factors which are capable of impacting upon the actions required and cost of network transition.                                                                                                                                                                                

Lessons Learnt

The Asset Risk Score system developed by CMS in the course of the Project is capable of being adjusted and reweighted as the pathway to transition and the infrastructure required to deliver, both become clearer.

The Asset Risk Score can therefore move with the network transaction environment, as regulation, policy and safety requirements become more certain.

Review of further servitude and easement documents would generate Asset Risk Scores for those assets and any such subsequent review and scoring exercise would be more cost effective as the work of training the machine learning technology would not need to be repeated.

Further projects would therefore be valuable if either a full network, or smaller, location specific reviews are required, linked to network transformation.
